About
Hi, I’m Betzalel Lapidus MSc, a psychotherapist in private practice in Jerusalem.
Emerging Self is what I believe about people. You are not broken, just covered over.
Some of what’s in the way is haze — the judgments, ideas and narratives you’ve come to hold about yourself. Some of it is heavier cloud — trauma and old pain, stored deep inside.
In therapy we work through both. What’s held releases, and who you already are comes back into view.
Therapy
Trained classically as a psychotherapist in Family Systems, I use inner child and parts work, and draw on Attachment theory and Object Relations to examine identity and entrenched beliefs.
The stories we tell ourselves don’t stay in the mind — they settle in the body, and we relive them in new forms. So my work is somatic as well as spoken: we release what’s held in the nervous system, building a sense of inner safety.
I am constantly learning and imbue everything that I do with my knowledge of the Torah’s wisdom.

I work with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression and self-esteem; with relationships, boundaries and the pressures particular to men; and with the periods when life changes shape — career, stage, direction and identity. I also work with chronic stress, burnout and the strain of long-term illness. Alongside relief, the work builds capacity: emotional regulation, resilience, and knowing how to look after yourself.
I currently work with men 18 and over.
No — my clients are both religious and secular. The work begins from where you actually are. Whatever you bring, your beliefs and how you live are yours to hold.
Sessions are offered virtually and in-person in Katamon, Jerusalem.
